Cookie Policy

Last updated: 22 June 2026

This policy explains what cookies are, how our website uses them, which third parties may set cookies, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit. Cookies let a site remember things about your visit, keep you signed in, support core features, and in some cases measure how the site is used. Similar technologies, such as local storage and pixels, work in comparable ways, and where we mention cookies in this policy we mean those too.

Cookies can be "first party", set by the site you are visiting, or "third party", set by another service used on the page. They can also be "session" cookies, which expire when you close your browser, or "persistent" cookies, which stay until they expire or you delete them.

2. How our website uses cookies

Our website is a static site. It does not run its own accounts, logins or tracking, so it sets very few cookies of its own. Where any first-party cookie or similar technology is used, it is limited to what is needed to deliver the site securely and reliably, for example through our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, which may set an essential cookie to help keep the site safe and performing well.

We do not use our own advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

3. Third-party cookies

Some features on our site rely on third-party services, and those services may set their own cookies when you use them. The main ones are:

  • Luma on event registration. When you go to register for an event, you are taken to or interact with the Luma platform, which may set cookies to run the registration and ticketing process.
  • Stripe at checkout. When you pay for membership or consulting, Stripe may set cookies to process the payment securely and to help prevent fraud.
  • An embedded Spotify player. Where we embed a podcast player, Spotify may set cookies to make the player work and to support its own features.
  • Kit. When you sign up to our email list, Kit may set cookies in connection with the sign-up form and email delivery.

These cookies are controlled by the relevant third party, not by us, and are governed by that provider's own cookie and privacy notices. We encourage you to review them if you want to understand exactly what each provider sets.

4. Essential and non-essential cookies

Cookies are commonly divided into two groups:

  • Essential cookies are needed for the site or a feature to work, for example to keep the site secure, to load a registration flow, or to process a payment. These cannot usually be switched off without breaking the relevant feature.
  • Non-essential cookies are not strictly necessary, for example cookies set by an embedded media player or by third-party services for their own analytics or preferences. Where consent is required for non-essential cookies, we and our providers will seek it where appropriate.

5. How to control cookies

You are in control of cookies. Most browsers let you see what cookies are stored, delete them, and block some or all cookies. You can usually find these options in your browser's settings or preferences, under a heading such as "Privacy", "Cookies" or "Site data". You can also set most browsers to warn you before a cookie is stored.

Please note that blocking or deleting cookies may affect how parts of our site, or third-party features such as event registration, payment and the podcast player, work for you. For step-by-step guidance, see the help pages for your browser:

  • Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari and other browsers each provide cookie settings within their own privacy or settings menus.

You can also learn more about cookies and how to manage them from independent resources such as the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this cookie policy from time to time, for example if we add or change a third-party feature. The current version is always the one on this page, with the "Last updated" date shown above.
